Still in his early twenties,
Julien Uhlig has begun a promising career and gained recognition at
a couple of prestigious competition's, including the Rosa Ponselle Competition, the Opera Index Competition New York, the Bremen Foerderpreis.

The German- born baritone studied at the "Accademia Musicale Chigiana" in Siena, Italy,  with the Italian tenor Carlo Bergonzi.

1996 he received a Scholarship from the "Mannes College of Music" in New York, where he was cast to perform Lesbo in Haendel's Agrippina, Papageno in Mozart's "Zauberfloete", Count Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro.

In 1998 he participated in the Brevard Music festival Productions
of Britten's a Midsummer Night's Dream and
Loesser's Guys and Doll's. He also performed as Perichaud in Puccini's La Rondine with Dicapo Opera New York.

In the 2000-2001 Season he performed the Musiklehrer in
Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos with the Israel Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv. Most recently he performed the role of Aly in Rossini's L'italiana in Algiers and the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni
with Conneticut Opera Theatre.
This summer he will return to Tel Aviv to perform the role of Conte Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro.
